Get to know us

At the Centre for Community & Public Health Improvement (CPHI-SL), we are committed to advancing the health and well-being of communities across Sierra Leone. Our mission is to address the social determinants of health through innovative, sustainable approaches that empower individuals and strengthen health systems. By tackling the root causes of health disparities, we can foster thriving, resilient communities.

Founded with a vision of equitable access to quality health services, CPHI works at the intersection of public health, community development, and health system strengthening. We partner with local and international stakeholders to implement evidence-based health programs, train and build the capacity of the healthcare workforce, and conduct research that informs policy and practice.

From combating communicable and non-communicable diseases to improving nutrition, water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), CPHI is at the forefront of Sierra Leone’s health sector transformation. We prioritize the most vulnerable populations—women, children, and marginalized communities—to ensure that no one is left behind.

Together, with our partners and communities, we strive to build a healthier, more prosperous future for Sierra Leone.
