Integrated health service delivery

CPHI-SL focuses on transforming healthcare to achieve optimal health and well-being for the individuals and communities in Sierra Leone. The organisation acknowledges that social determinants of health (i.e. factors such as housing, education, and employment) are overwhelmingly linked to our health status. CPHI-SL, therefore, seeks to address the social determinants of health by ensuring that health is featured in all policies towards addressing the social determinants of health.

It will also contribute to national efforts by partnering with the relevant stakeholders in increasing access to healthcare services and minimizing health inequities, especially for the vulnerable, including the poor, women, children, and the deprived in Sierra Leone.

The Institute will do so by leveraging early detection and prevention interventions and treatment-seeking approaches as well as collaborating with relevant institutions. CPHI-SL will actively compete for externally funded projects to support community development and health systems strengthening through innovation-focused activities that address neglected community health issues and related social services, focusing on the following areas among others:

Health: Communicable and Non-Communicable Diseases (preventive, curative and promotive interventions)

  • Nutrition and Food Security

  • Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH)

  • School-based health promotion

  • Women’s and Youth Empowerment for Health

  • Humanitarian and Community Development for Health
